Koh Payam – the island

Spent a week on the most lovely island and it was great to show it to those they haven’t seen it before and only heard stories about. Was great as well to stay with JJ and his team , had good times and a pleasant stay. And good to see our old friends Tim and Astrid again , even for an extended hi-bye. Went back in time as well as we were talking about future. Loved it to share with the beloved people. And not only the sunsets were awesome. Food, coffee, glad to got the massage service from Oi again. Young families bring up new businesses and at the end we all will see us again @ Payam (which known as Payummy island as well….) Have a safe trip and take care wherever you go….

Mui Ne – more russians

We arrived in Mui Ne after 6 hrs ride by bus. Hotel is clean and may be 30 $ would be enough but staff is friendly and the atmosphere nice. However we thought that we had left the russian enclave Nah Trang but unfortunately even Mui Ne is 80 % russian occupied territory. *sigh*
We went out for dinner and found a valuable restaurant. Most other locations much to expensive and some of them have a russian menu only. Well you may understand that if there´s no vietnamese and no english language we feel not welcomed at those places. And while we had dinner we were discussing if either we are too old or the times have changed. Here in Vietnam we didn´t find a place like we know and have been in Thailand. Or may be we glorify the old days at Koh Payam when we were sitting around a table and talked about everything and anything. May be we saw enough places and we´re not made for those trips any longer. Next vacation brings us may be to the Harz (famous landscape in the middle of Germany) or to New Zealand or Canada. Too many “may be`s” right now. Let´s see what will happen.
Tomorrow we`ll rent a motorbike and go for the famous dunes and seeking for some smooth local areas nearby.

Negombo again

I tried to make a reservation in advance for Jetwing Seashells for the last night, was a hard ones but at least it worked. At the Ayubowan we had few hours left before taking the train. The train. Some of the guys recommended because in his mind should be not so crowded as the bus. New year is coming and it’s weekend too so a lot of people will go to Colombo for shopping or visting families. The train was crowded. Even we took the right one, which means we took an express train. We stood the whole ride. Terrible. Than we decided we don’t want to wait for the bus to Negombo and had a look for the right bus. We did it after nearly one hour. First we entered a A/C bus, but as usual, no space for us and the lagguage. So we jumped out and entered a local bus. It was slower but cheaper and comfortable. At least it took us 5 hours ride for approximately 100 km. That’s Sri Lanka too. We got a room and thee surrprise for us was the overtime rate for a late checkout. 30 $. First a thought the guy at the desk was kidding me but he was serious. After a short negotiation we agreed for 20 $. More than enough. But we knew that we’ll have a comfortable stay here until our flight is scheduled. And may be I’ll post our summary for Sri Lanka also.
as you may travel with lagguage ...
